What elements of my text attract my target audience?

I have attracted my target audience by specifically making the age of my main character the same age as most members of my target audience. Having the main character the same age as most members of my target audience appeals to my target audience because it gives them a character that they can relate to.

The clothes that my main character wears also relates to my target audience, and therefore appeals to them, because Katie is wearing school uniform. This makes my Katie, my main character, more believable because she is going through the same issues that many of my target audience is going through such as stress with GCSEs and school but also just normal teenage life.

The use of a female lead in my movie also attracts my target audience because my main protagonist would now appeal to females more, because they have a character in the movie that they can relate to, and the overall action and thriller aspects of my film will highly appeal to males.

  My use of technology would also appeal to my target audience because it adds to the plausibility of my main protagonist. The fact that Katie, in my film, uses an Iphone 4s suggests that she is just a normal teenage girl. She does not have the financial capability to keep purchasing the new model of the latest phone however she does like to keep up with technology just like normal teenage girls do. The normality of Katie's character appeals to my target audience because Katie is no one special and she is comfortable with herself which also makes Katie a role model to many teenagers going through the issue of not being happy with who they are.

The music in my film may also appeal to my target audience because it is very upbeat and I think that the song might get stuck in my audience's head so they will want to listen to the song even after the film has finished.

Finally the setting that I have used may also appeal to my target audience because there are many villages and woodland areas all across the country which some of my target audience can relate to. They know all about living in this sort of area so they can understand the problems that Katie might come across, due to her location, in my film.
